Claim BonusWe rank bonuses by effective value: the headline bonus amount divided by the wagering multiplier. A $3,000 bonus at 25x rollover scores 120; a $5,000 bonus at 40x scores 125; a $25 no-deposit bonus at 1x scores 25. The numbers below are calculated from the same data table that powers our master casino ranking and are recomputed every quarter.

Effective value = headline bonus value ÷ wagering multiplier. Higher is better. A score of 100+ is excellent; 60–100 is acceptable; below 50 we recommend skipping the bonus entirely.
Most players read "30x rollover" and assume it is a paperwork formality. It is not. It is a real cost in expected bankroll burn, and you can calculate it before you claim the bonus.
Here is the formula. If a slot has an RTP of 96% (so a house edge of 4%), and the rollover on your $100 bonus is 30x, you must wager $3,000 in total bets to clear it. At a 4% house edge, your expected loss on $3,000 of wagering is $120 — which is more than the $100 bonus value. The bonus has a negative expected value to clear.
That sounds damning until you remember most bonuses are claimed against a deposit. If you deposit $100, claim the $100 bonus, and clear the 30x rollover, your expected outcome is $100 deposit + $100 bonus − $120 house edge = $80 remaining. You lost $20 of your $100 deposit in exchange for $300 of betting volume — which is fine if you wanted the play, bad if you wanted the bonus to be free money.
The same math is brutal on 50x rollovers. $5,000 of wagering at 4% house edge = $200 expected loss against a $100 bonus. You lose $100 of your deposit on average.
The math is friendly on 25x rollovers (Ignition, Lucky Red): $2,500 of wagering at 4% edge = $100 expected loss against a $100 bonus. Break-even. Anything below 25x rollover is positive expected value on a 96% RTP slot.
Two further variables: (1) game weighting — slots typically count 100%, table games 5–20%, live dealer 10–20%. If you play blackjack to clear a slot bonus you may need 5–20× more wagering than the rollover number suggests. (2) RTP variance — actual results deviate from theory by 2–4% on standard variance. On a $3,000 rollover target, that is ±$90 of variance. Set expectations accordingly.
The most common offer. The casino matches your deposit by a percentage (100%–400%) up to a maximum dollar amount. Your bonus is locked until you wager the rollover number. Welcome bonuses are typically the largest dollar offer a brand will make to you — claim with care.
The casino gives you a small amount ($10–$25) before you have deposited a cent. Rollover is usually low (1x–20x). Rare at offshore brands but standard at state-regulated US casinos (a $25 no-deposit bonus at 1x is the gold standard format). The most clearable bonus type by far.
Fixed number of spins on a specific slot. Winnings are bonus credit, subject to the same rollover as deposit bonuses, often capped at $100–$500 cash-out. Useful as a low-cost slot trial. The 125 free spins on the Wild Casino crypto welcome are above average for the offshore market.
Smaller percentage matches (50%–100%) for existing players. Coupon-coded calendars are common at Slots of Vegas, Shazam and Lucky Tiger. Rollover is usually lower than welcome offers (20x–30x). Often the highest-effective-value bonuses a casino will offer.
A percentage of net losses returned as bonus credit (non-cashable) or real cash (cashable). Cashback is meaningfully better than a match bonus for high-volume players. Cafe Casino and Shazam both run cashable cashback. Look for "no wagering on cashback" in the terms.
Long-term accumulation of comp points that convert to bonus credit or real cash. Ignition, BetOnline and Lucky Red all run multi-tier programs with cashable conversions. The math favors high-frequency players; recreational players will not unlock the better tiers.
Higher percentage match (sometimes 100%+ uplift) for funding via Bitcoin or Litecoin. Cafe Casino, Super Slots and Lucky Creek all run dedicated crypto welcome offers. See our crypto casinos page for a deeper analysis.
Cash or bonus credit when you refer a new player who deposits. Typically $50–$200 per referral. Often non-cashable. Read the terms for whether the referred player needs to clear a separate threshold before the bonus is awarded.
Every bonus has a "game contribution" or "game weighting" table buried in the terms. This tells you what percentage of your bet on each game type counts toward the rollover requirement. Slots almost always count 100%. Everything else counts less — sometimes materially less. This is the single most common reason new players "lose" a bonus without understanding why.
Typical game weighting at offshore US-facing casinos:
| Game type | Typical weighting toward rollover | Effective rollover multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Online slots (most titles) | 100% | 1× the stated rollover |
| Classic / 3-reel slots | 50–100% | 1–2× stated rollover |
| Video poker | 10–25% | 4–10× stated rollover |
| Blackjack (any variant) | 5–20% | 5–20× stated rollover |
| Roulette | 10–25% | 4–10× stated rollover |
| Baccarat | 10% | 10× stated rollover |
| Craps | 10% | 10× stated rollover |
| Live dealer tables (any) | 10–20% | 5–10× stated rollover |
| Specialty (keno, bingo, scratch) | 50–100% | 1–2× stated rollover |
| Progressive jackpot slots | 0–100% | Often excluded entirely |
What this means in practice: a 30× rollover on a $200 bonus requires $6,000 of wagering on 100%-weighted slots — or $60,000 of wagering on 10%-weighted blackjack. The same dollar amount of bonus, the same headline rollover number, but ten times the work to clear because of game weighting.
The Around50 rule on weighting: if you want to play table games or live dealer, find a brand with a dedicated table game bonus (smaller dollar amount, but slots are not the only 100%-weighted option). Trying to clear a slot welcome on blackjack is mathematically miserable.
You deposit $200 in Bitcoin and claim Ignition's first-deposit 100% match (slot-side of the combined welcome). You receive $200 of bonus credit; your wagering target is $200 × 25 = $5,000 of slot bets. At a typical $0.50 bet size and 600 spins per hour, that is roughly 6.5 hours of play. On a 96% RTP slot, your expected loss across $5,000 of wagering is $200 — exactly the bonus value. The math is break-even before variance, which means the bonus is genuinely "free shots" rather than a math trap. Ignition's 25× rollover is the most forgiving of any major offshore brand and is the main reason it ranks #1 on our effective-value table.
You deposit $300 in Litecoin and claim the 350% crypto match — $1,050 of bonus credit. Wagering target: $1,050 × 40 = $42,000 of slot wagering. At $0.50 per spin, 600 spins per hour, that is 70 hours of slot play. On a 96% RTP slot, expected loss across $42,000 = $1,680. Your effective cost of the bonus is your expected loss ($1,680) minus the bonus value ($1,050) = $630 of expected bankroll burn beyond what your deposit could absorb. The bonus has negative expected value to clear, but the playing time is real (70 hours of entertainment for $930 net expected cost is not a crazy ratio — it depends what you value).
You deposit $1,000 in Bitcoin and claim Lucky Red's 200% match — $2,000 of bonus credit. Wagering target: $2,000 × 25 = $50,000. At $2 per spin (more appropriate for a $1,000 deposit), 600 spins per hour: 42 hours of play. Expected loss across $50,000 at 96% RTP = $2,000. Break-even after the bonus. The 25× rollover plus the higher bet size means Lucky Red's $4,000 ceiling actually has reasonable clearance economics for players willing to deposit four figures and bet $1–$5 per spin. Below $300 deposit, the math breaks down because the rollover ceiling is too high relative to the bonus.
You deposit $500 in Litecoin at BetWhale and decline the 125% welcome. You play whatever you want at any bet size, no game-weighting trap, no rollover, no maximum cash-out cap. If you win $400 on slots, you can withdraw the full $900 the same hour. If you had claimed the bonus, you would have $1,125 of bonus credit locked behind a 30× rollover ($33,750 of wagering) — and even if you happened to win the $400 on the first session, that win would be locked until rollover cleared. For players who plan a small number of medium-stakes sessions and want to cash out whatever they win, the bonus is the wrong tool. Decline it.
The welcome bonus is the loudest offer a brand makes, but it is a one-time thing. After you claim and clear it, the question becomes: what comes next? This is where brand choice really shows up over a long player relationship.
Three patterns to know about:
Slots of Vegas, Shazam, and Lucky Tiger run near-constant reload offers — three to five new coupon codes per week, often offering 50–100% match on a deposit or 20–50 free spins. The codes are emailed to opted-in players and posted in the casino's "Promotions" tab. If you enjoy stacking offers, these are the brands. The downside is offer fatigue — keeping up with the codes can feel like a part-time job.
Ignition, BetOnline, and Lucky Red run multi-tier programs (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) where wagering volume unlocks cashable comp points. The math favors high-frequency players — a casual player depositing $200 a month will spend years before reaching the meaningful tiers. But for a serious recreational player, the long-tail return is real cash (Lucky Red's Diamond tier converts 50 comp points → $1).
Cafe Casino, Shazam, and BetWhale all run cashback programs that return 5–15% of net weekly losses as bonus credit (or cash, in cashable cashback). For losing players this is a partial hedge. For winning players it returns zero. Mathematically a "no-rollover cashable cashback" is the single best ongoing promo type at any offshore casino — better than any deposit-match reload — but the rate is usually capped at 5–10% to keep the casino's economics intact.
Some brands run a strong welcome and then go quiet — the relationship economics are single-shot. If you do not see your brand on the reload list above, assume this is the pattern and adjust expectations.
By clearability (headline value ÷ rollover multiplier), Ignition wins: $3,000 / 25x = 120 effective value points. BetOnline ($1,000 at 30x) and Lucky Red ($4,000 at 25x) are next strongest. Headline-value-only ranking puts Slots.lv on top with a $7,500 nine-deposit ladder, but the 35x rollover drags real value below the leaders.
You deposit money, the casino adds bonus credits equal to a percentage match (commonly 100%–400%). The bonus credits are locked until you "clear" them by wagering the rollover number. 30x rollover on a $100 bonus means you must wager $3,000 in real-money bets before the bonus and any winnings derived from it become withdrawable. Some brands require you to clear rollover before withdrawing your original deposit too — read the fine print.
Wagering requirement, also called rollover or playthrough, is the number you must multiply your bonus (or bonus + deposit) by in real-money bets before withdrawing. A 30x rollover on bonus means $30 of bets per $1 of bonus. A 30x rollover on bonus + deposit means $60 of bets per $1 of bonus (because both your deposit and the bonus must be wagered). Always check which version applies.
Almost never. The right comparison is clearable value, not headline value. A $25 no-deposit bonus at 1x rollover (typical of state-regulated US brands in NJ/PA/MI/WV) requires $25 of total wagering — fully clearable in 5 minutes of slot play. A $5,000 deposit-match bonus at 50x rollover requires $250,000 of wagering — equivalent to thousands of spins, during which the house edge ($25,000+ on a 90% RTP slot) will eat any actual win. The smaller bonus is materially better.
A sticky bonus is deducted from your withdrawal — you can win using the bonus, but the bonus amount itself is removed when you cash out. A non-sticky bonus stays with the winnings — if you clear rollover, the bonus is yours. Most offshore brands run non-sticky bonuses on welcome offers and sticky bonuses on reloads. Read the terms.
Crypto deposits cost the casino less to process. Card deposits carry a 2.5–4% merchant processing fee that the casino either absorbs or passes to the player; crypto deposits cost the casino essentially zero. The casino can offer a larger percentage match on crypto and still net the same margin. Cafe Casino offers 350% on crypto vs. 250% on cards; Super Slots reserves its $6,000 six-deposit welcome for crypto only.
At most brands, withdrawing before rollover is met forfeits the bonus and any winnings derived from it — but you keep your original deposit (minus any bets). Read your specific bonus terms. The brands we recommend make this unambiguous; less reputable brands sometimes seize the original deposit too, which is one reason we vet operators carefully.
A fixed number of spins (typically 20–125) on a specific slot title, awarded as bonus credit. Winnings from free spins are subject to the same wagering requirement as deposit bonuses — typically 30x–40x — and often have a maximum cash-out cap ($100–$500). Useful as a low-cost way to trial a new slot, but never the centerpiece of a bonus strategy.
A smaller percentage match (typically 50%–100%) offered to existing players on subsequent deposits after the welcome bonus is consumed. Brands like Slots of Vegas, Shazam and Lucky Tiger build their loyalty programs around reload calendars — coupon codes redeemed daily or weekly. Reloads usually have lower rollover (20x–30x) than welcome bonuses.
Cashable bonus money becomes real cash once rollover is met and is fully withdrawable. Non-cashable bonus money exists only to extend your play — once rollover clears, the bonus amount itself is removed from your balance, but the winnings derived from it remain. Cashable is materially better; check your bonus terms for which type applies.
State-regulated brands in NJ, PA, MI and WV routinely offer no-deposit bonuses — typically $10–$25 with 1x rollover. Offshore brands rarely do — the no-deposit model does not work well for offshore economics. The closest equivalent in our affiliate roster is the low-minimum-deposit offers at Slots.lv and Cafe Casino ($10 minimum) plus a strong first-deposit match.
We use a formula: (Headline Value) × (Game Weighting) ÷ (Rollover Multiplier). A $3,000 bonus at 25x with 100% slot weighting scores $3,000 × 1.0 ÷ 25 = $120 of effective value. The same bonus at 50x rollover scores $60. We then verify the calculation against a real funded session — actual clearance rate on a 96% RTP slot deviates from theory by 2–4% on average.
Before you browse, our #1-rated brand is matching new players 300% up to $3,000 across casino + poker — the lowest rollover (25×) in our roster. We timed a real Litecoin withdrawal in 41 minutes during testing.
